Lecture title: Post-occupancy evaluation in housing: human and other factors
Abstract: Housing is responsible for a quarter of greenhouse gas emissions in the UK and there is an urgent need to reduce
the amount of emissions in new housing. And yet, energy housing is regularly underperforming, often using two or even
three times as much energy as predicted. Equally, there can be fourteen times difference between the amount of energy one
household uses compared to another for exactly the same size house. Why is this happening? What can we do about it, as
architects and engineers?
