・TCU, SH and NC students were divided into eight groups that had to cover three areas; hotel, school and street near school by filling a checklist and preparing a map;
・Each group took six seven and eight grade students from a local school;
・The TCU, SH and NC students along with the local school students introduced one another.
・The local students then filled the pre-questionnaire that tested their understanding of their environment and sustainability;
・The TCU, SH and NC students then introduced the concept of sustainability;
・Then the group then went on a transect walk based on their respective themes.
・Inputs from the student’s observation helped them prepare a map upon their return to their school;
・The students marked out sustainable indicators (like trees, biogas plant, toilets, garbage cans).
・They then presented the map by pointing out the practices that contribute to sustainability and those that don’t. They also suggested ways to enhance the sustainability of the observed area.
・The day concluded with a prize distribution and tree plantation ceremony.
